Some would just refer to the last beer to touch their lips, however we are a more refined lot (aren't we?). What is the most recent "best beer you've ever had"? Where did you get it? Maybe there were some special circumstances involved in acquiring this heavenly brew?

I'd say the best beer I've had was Guiness off the tap in Dublin. They brewed the beer 2 blocks from where I drank it, and the flavor was so rich and heady. I think it may have ruined Guiness for me. I've been to many pubs here looking to re-create the experience, but have struck-out so far. It just never seems as fresh after it sits on a boat for a week or so on it's way here. Plus the bartenders here I've encountered just don't seem to know the art of drawing a proper pint the way they do in Ireland.

Deschutes The Dissident (which won gold at this year's GABF for best "American Style Sour Ale"). It's a Flanders style oud bruin. It remined me a lot of Russian River's Supplication or Bristol Brewing's 2003 Aud Bruin Skull and Bones. Sour-y, filled with Bretts, and fantastic!

Really?! As you know, I'm not a hop head, so it wasn't that appealing to me. I'm more upset over the fact that Brrr will be replacing Snowplow as their winter seasonal. Snowplow is one of my all time fave winter brews. The two aren't even remotely the same type of beer style.
